We had a wonderful day out with Johnny at the Sun Temple in Modhera and then on to see the mushru and patola weaving at Patan, followed by some shopping for gifts to take home. Johnny is both very patient and very knowledgeable, a great combination.

  1. Myself and two colleagues came on a work visit to Ahmedabad and Bhuj in December 2011. Jonny was our guide and companion for a week - he couldn't have been more helpful to us - we had such an enjoyable time all together! He is great company, highly capable and helpful - and extremely knowledgeable. He made many good connections for us - and our trip was the richer for spending time with him and we achieved much more in our available time than we had originally planned or hoped for. I shall look forward to our next visit and will be asking Jonny to accompany us again.

    1. Well - as I said in my previous entry, I duly contacted Johnny when planning our next visit to India, which we did in February / March 2013. The first week was for work, visiting the same places in Ahmedabad and in Kutch - then three friends joined me for a holiday and we spent three weeks touring with Johnny around Rajasthan. Johnny is such great company - really supportive and helpful - a great sense of humour and nothing is too much trouble. He has endless patience and his language skills and initiative just make life so easy for us tourists. That is my third visit now, with Johnny as driver / guide each time. I can heartily recommend him - and I certainly count him and his lovely family as friends these days!

  2. We spent two weeks in Gujarat, an unforgettable trip thanks to our exceptional driver and guide.
We discovered a state of India quite exceptional: the temples of Palitana, Modhera and Patan, the beach and the shipyard of Mandvi, Kutch villages, discovering the different communities and their crafts, the White Desert, the little Rann and safari, the city of Ahmedabad and its fantastic mosques ...
And excellent food, a real treat!

There is no doubt, "Johnny was born and bred in Ahmedabad !"

Jonny, thank you again for your presence, your listening, your advice, your knowledge ... you are professional and very careful driver.

More than just a driver, a friend now!

  3. I had arranged a tailor-made and individualistic three-week trip to Gujarat in Feb this year. This involved not just the wonderful sites that most tourists visit but also remote uncharted Buddhist caves to less-known Indus Civilization excavations. The entire trip proved so successful only because of Johnny, my very accomplished driver, who proved to be a remakable friend indeed.

His infinite patience, willingness to help , safe driving, knowledge of the area and excellent communication skills in English sets him in a class of his own. No challenge was too daunting for Johnny, whether it be travelling through forests of thorny bushes , accompanying me in scaling rocky hills to discover unmapped Buddhist caves or waiting for me to indulge in infinite shopping for the wonderful Gujarati handicrafts.
He has an inate ability to immediately understand the individual tourist's preferences and interests . This further enriched my trip as he suggested visiting certain remarkable sites that were not in my original itinerary.
Thank you so much, Johnny - you can be sure that I will depend on you for my return trip to Gujarat. You are a treasure for any tourist or traveller to the fascinating sights and sounds of unforgettable Gujarat!

    Best wishes,

    Harini
